Amazon is looking for a detail-oriented individual, with strong bias for action, to join our northern VA Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services. Specifically, this team works to ensure that the data center's Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems (MEP) operate at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers.The DCEO Chief Engineer (CE) is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The CE serves as an expert technical resource reporting to a site’s Data Center Facility Manager and interacting with onsite Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and any third party vendors. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center and to support Amazon within its owned and operated data centers. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.Key job responsibilitiesAmong other duties, the Manager, Personnel Security will- lead a personnel security management team responsible for managing the security clearance program, reporting, and compliance for US government customer;- develop mechanisms and processes to improve data flow of clearance activity;- drive efficiencies for personnel security clearance programs and ensure security documentation, files, and clearance and suitability rosters are maintained in accordance with US government requirements;- contribute to the development and evolution of personnel security programs;- own development and enhancement of personnel security programs, ensuring they are developed and operated in accordance with internal and customer security policies and practices;- monitor processes and drive improvements in efficiency and quality of our personnel security programs;- interface regularly with AWS stakeholders and government customers to support clearance activities.About the teamOur team is dedicated to supporting new team members.
