Amazon is looking for a Systems Development Engineer to evolve and re architect Native AWS solutions, build features and tools that will have an immediate impact, as well as partnering business leaders across Amazon's eCommerce platforms.
As a SysDev Engineer, you will have an opportunity to collaborate with Data Engineers, Software Development Engineers, and Systems Engineers to help build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ETL pipelines, and event monitoring solutions at scale. You will help shape the strategic direction and decisions for data integration and monitoring of critical Tier 1 services.
As a SysDev Engineer, you should be an expert in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and technologies including but not limited to EC2, S3, RedShift, Redis, ELB, RDS Aurora 2, EMR and Glue, to support real-world big data pipelines. You will build robust and secure solutions to address software vulnerabilities, upgrades and patching.

· Dive Deep while working with customers, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving problems across various technologies
· Create and update engineering or customer-facing documentation
· Develop runbooks, or build tools, used by customers or other Systems Engineers
· Identify customer pain points, raising concerns to your team, to shape the product roadmap
Key job responsibilities
Administer & monitor multiple AWS Accounts.
· Solve both tactical and strategic problems simultaneously
. Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS
. Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
. Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure
. Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools
. Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems (Amazon Linux 2 AMI)
· Resolve Problem Management and Resolution tickets
· Ensure environment security follows best practices
· Monitor AWS Services and integration with other applications. Also to provide usage and performance metrics
· Perform some production support duties during off-hours, on rotation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in Linux system programming
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- 2+ years of experience with Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, LAG, BGP)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
