The Amazon Devices Business Development organization is looking for a results-oriented, data-driven Sr. Salesforce Developer to hold an engineering leadership role managing our Amazon Devices Business Development team Salesforce instances.

To be successful in this role, you will have to: 1) build relationships with internal stakeholders, 2) own change management, 3) look across teams for standardization, 4) design solutions for efficiency and scale, 5) enjoy solving problems, and 6) clearly articulate business technical requirements verbally and in writing. The successful candidate will be comfortable in operating in an ambiguous space with strong technical ability, project management skills, and background in building products and APIs from the ground up. We are looking for someone with a curious mind, great attention to detail, and be able to effectively prioritize and multi-task while managing numerous simultaneous projects.

This role will be responsible for identifying internal and external solutions to business requirements, designing and setting up complex integrations into our existing Salesforce architecture and workflows, and driving seamless connectivity across tools. You will design and develop enterprise solutions across Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Pardot, and AWS tools such as S3, establishing efficient, scalable integrations that align with Amazon Devices Business Development needs.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop Solutions: Manage configuration/coding of new and existing Salesforce features, including user management, security, custom objects, page layouts, validations, flows, and other 3rd party applications.
• Design Solutions: Act as a strategic technical leader to provide architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote & accelerate adoption of Salesforce to internal teams.
• Architecture: Lead architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on Salesforce and AWS while ensuring solutions can be reused across Amazon.
• Multi-Platform Solutioning: Build solutions in Salesforce.com leveraging Force.com, VisualForce, APEX, Lightning Web Components, Web Services, and APIs.
• Integrations Management: Support cross systems integrations across native Salesforce ecosystem, backend services, and AWS technologies.
• Internal Collaboration: Partner with product team to deliver tailored solutions that support business requirements, create a superlative user experience, and drive tangible business value.
• Requirements Gathering: Participate in the planning and analysis of requirements for system enhancements, translating requirements into well-architecture solutions that best use the Salesforce platform and products.
• Process Improvement: Pro-actively identify opportunities to leverage Salesforce in innovative ways to improve existing business processes, and support an organization scaling at a rapid pace and provide expertise and recommend when to use configuration vs. code vs. out-of-the-box products.
• Governance: Manage Salesforce support requests and any escalated needs of users by providing prompt and complete resolution to technical challenges and business support issues.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and implement measures to continuously monitor and improve systems oversight.

A day in the life
As a Sr. Salesforce Developer, you will be responsible for managing Salesforce development and design for the Amazon Devices Business Development organization. In conjunction with daily governance responsibilities, you will drive product roadmap features, requirements, and prioritization on behalf of the supported Business Development teams. The successful candidate will be experienced at leading cross-functional projects, business requirements gathering, Salesforce design optimization, managing multiple integrations, and overseeing interdependent systems. You will balance earning our stakeholders’ trust while delivering against tight timelines and managing stakeholder feature adoption. A desire to dive deep to understand the business and ability to build a trusted network of Salesforce peers is essential to this role.

About the team
As a member of the Business Development Sales Operation (BDSO) team, you will impact solutions across the Amazon Device Portfolio (Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Kindle, Blink, Ring, and eero). BDSO is a centralized operational team that works across business development organizations to drive processes, tools, and systems that unlock scale and enable emerging business opportunities. This role is critical to the success of the Amazon Devices strategy, working across Amazon Devices peers to enhance cross-organization collaboration and efficiency through Salesforce. Our team currently owns two Salesforce instances, one Data Cloud instance, and 1 Marketing Cloud instance utilized for business development pipeline management, planning, and forecasting globally. Business development operations and systems are managed with a focus on sustainability and continuous improvement to enable scalability and new business models.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Certified Salesforce Platform App Builder or Developer (DEV-401) Certification or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of Salesforce development experience using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning component frameworks, triggers, batch apex and Salesforce APIs at a large organization
- 2+ years of experience in Salesforce point and click configuration using flows, validation rules, setup, roles & profiles, reports and dashboards at a large organization
- 2+ years of AWS experience EC2, S3, ECS, Lambdas, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, SES, CodeCommit etc. and proficiency in integration technologies (JSON, REST, SOAP, GraphQL)
- Experience writing technical documents, project plans and progress reports to leadership and to stakeholders
- In-depth understanding of the capabilities and constraints of the Salesforce CRM application architecture
- Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Experience Cloud
- Experience with SQL or Redshift and pulling data via queries

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect or equivalent experience
- Salesforce Certified Integration Architecture Designer
- Familiarity with Amazon’s security certification processes (Amazon Security Review / Anvil, Kale)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market.
