We are looking for a UX leader to drive the definition, design, and delivery of earth’s most lovable shopping experience. This role will lead a UX team responsible for multiple experiences on Amazon. The ideal candidate is adept at analyzing customer behaviors, understanding complex problems, and empowering innovation on behalf of customers within and outside of the team. You are passionate about working strategically with design and product leadership across the company to create and deliver big, visionary and customer-focused experiences.

Key job responsibilities
- Defining and developing the vision for innovative new solutions, solving some of our toughest shopping challenges
- Leading new creative and holistic thinking across diverse product releases, platforms, and devices; driving the direction, style, and methodology of design and accessibility
- Championing cohesion in design that unites a growing family of programs and features, while continuing to deliver and evangelize a fervent culture of invention and innovation
- Leading cross-team conceptual development; being a strategic thought leader in how to implement unmatched experiences that represent the most customer-centric intersection between design, business, content, and technology
- Modeling excellence in design, while growing and developing fellow designers
- Demonstrating systems-level design thinking, delivering design solutions that scale

The role involves close partnership with customer research, product management, development, and partner teams to deliver high-impact design work at a global scale.


About the team
Amazon’s Shopping Design team designs the shopping journey for Amazon customers—from discovery and evaluation of products and programs, to writing and reading product reviews, to gifting and saving products for later, to checking out and completing purchases. We’re also the team that defines the UX guidelines and design language (codified in our shopping design system) that enables teams across Amazon to design on-brand shopping experiences efficiently and at scale.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 12+ years of relevant professional experience driving creative strategy and execution for digital products.
- 7+ years of experience leading creative, multi-disciplinary teams.
- A portfolio of innovative design work that demonstrates industry-leading human-centered design process and business success
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Retail/e-commerce design experience in a global context
- Passion and high bar for stunning visual design
- Ability to work globally and influence across organizational boundaries and manage ambiguity to deliver results
- Inspiring and precise executive-level communication and presentation skills
- Committed to learning and teaching professional and technical knowledge
- Master’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $162,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $268,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
