As a Sr. Financial Analyst, you will work closely with Sustainability leads across Amazon to develop business strategies and analytical insights for supporting Amazon’s sustainability goals. This is a chance to work hard, have fun, and make history.
Key job responsibilities
• Partner with sustainability program leads who coordinate water related sustainability efforts across Amazon.
• Support ESG regulatory reporting on water metrics.
• Develop modeling and insightful forecasts for water consumption and abatement.
• Perform various ad hoc analyses to help business leaders solve business problems and understand financial implications
• Influence business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of options and alternatives
• Drive P&L financials and implement control and compliance mechanisms
• Develop scalable solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity
• Be able to thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
The successful candidate will have shown experiences in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving environments.
This position will be located in Seattle.

Building financial models from scratch to support business partner decision making on potential investment opportunities; driving the right insights to make sure Amazon is pursuing the right water abatement strategies.

The Worldwide Sustainability Finance team includes a cross-section of finance professionals with diverse career backgrounds that are aligned on a common purpose; helping Amazon achieve it's external ESG commitments.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
