In Prime Video's Customer Relationship and Marketing Tech (CRMT) team, our mission is to build and scale a holistic customer relationship management program and deliver automated and personalized marketing messages to Prime Video customers worldwide. Our team builds, maintains, and obsesses over our customer communication programs delivered in Prime Video’s owned marketing channels and surfaces, including customer emails, app push notifications, WhatsApp, and Amazon.com promotions. As a Sr. Data Scientist in the Prime Video CRMT team, you will play a critical role in transforming the worldwide Prime Video marketing strategy and customer experience through building science solutions and collaborating with marketing leaders, as well as product and engineering teams. Leveraging cutting-edge statistical techniques, machine learning, causal inference, experiment design, and customer lifecycle segmentation analytics, you will inform and guide business and product strategy, personalize and optimize marketing solutions for Prime Video customers, and deliver timely, relevant, and engaging content across a wide range of marketing channels. Your innovative models will enable Prime Video to better understand customer needs and guide customers to discover content they'll enjoy.

Key job responsibilities
- Design, implement, experiment, deploy, maintain, and optimize innovative science solutions to enhance the marketing strategy and personalize the customer experience.
- Proactively seek out business opportunities and provide science-based frameworks and solutions. Automate and simplify processes and approaches where possible or necessary.
- Translate complex and ambiguous business problem statements into clear, actionable science frameworks, maintaining a high standard throughout execution.
- Collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, product managers, and marketing leaders to deliver impactful projects.
- Present complex analytical results and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating data into actionable business strategies.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and drive innovation by exploring new technologies, methodologies, and best practices in data science and marketing analytics.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists, fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 5+ years of data scientist experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate technical solutions to scientists, engineering teams, and business audiences
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in econometrics, statistics, industrial engineering, operations research, optimization, data mining, analytics, or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team
- Experience with streaming video, content analytics, customer lifecycle analytics, and industry-scale machine learning models for marketing and recommendation systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
