Amazon US3P business team seeks a Sr. BI Engineer who will design, develop and support BI solutions to turn data into actionable insights supporting decision-making. Team is building an analytics solution for KPIs and Metrics used by senior leadership to monitor business performance. An ideal candidate should have solid skills in understanding business processes, Report development, writing complex SQL queries, testing, troubleshooting, metadata management, and documentation.

Key job responsibilities
As a BI Engineer in the team, you will create and maintain optimal BI solutions. Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional business requirements. Work with analysts and subject matter experts to design and develop data models and reports across business domains. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. Build the infrastructure required for supporting a wide variety of business domains and the growing needs of the campus analytics community.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
