The Amazon Robotics software team is seeking an experienced and senior Applied Scientist to focus on computer vision machine learning models. This includes building multi-viewpoint and time-series computer vision systems. It includes building large-scale models using data from many different tasks and scenes. This work spans from basic research such as cross domain training, to experimenting on prototype in the lab, to running wide-scale A/B tests on robots in our facilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
- 5+ years of industry or academic research experience
- Experience in building machine learning models for business application
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- 5+ years of industry or academic research experience in applied research and development in computer vision and machine learning models

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Phd and 7+ years of post-phd industry or academic applied research experience in computer vision and machine learning models.
- Proven ability to innovate and develop robust and scalable solutions to complex robotics problems.
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
