The Prime Video Personalization & Discovery Enablement team's mission is to accelerate understanding, experimentation and decision making for algorithms and ML models that shape the construction of Prime Video pages. We achieve this mission through the creation of frameworks and tools that empower our internal partners (engineering/science teams, PMs, PVPD leadership) to enhance the Prime Video experience via superiorly constructed and personalized PV pages. This is a greenfield charter to think big and innovate to help level up the Prime Video personalization org and impact 100+ million customers.

The Personalization & Discovery Enablement team is part of the Prime Video Personalization and Discovery org, who's mission is to show a customer the right video content, in the right place, at the right time. We tailor PV for a diverse and global audience, so customers world-wide with different tastes and backgrounds can find something to watch and enjoy on every visit. We delight Prime subscribers by leaning in to the Amazon originals and exclusives that shape our brand and differentiate us. We grow our relationships with customers by leveraging our deep understanding of them to provide relevant and timely recommendations. We believe the current customer experience is only scratching the surface of innovative experiences that are made possible as viewing continues to shift online, and that science is at the center of delivering a step-function change for our CX.

Key job responsibilities
As a SDE on the Personalization & Discovery Enablement team, you will work on creation solutions for telemetry, experiment and machine learning infrastructure challenges. You will work with engineers, scientists and PMs throughout the org to understand and address their bottlenecks and code common frameworks for use across teams. Innovation, bias for action and deliver results will be key to the team's success while high operational standards will be necessary to ensure the data and tools we create lead teams to the right decisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
