Are you interested in defining the security strategy that enables World Wide Customer Service to securely interact with customers? In this role, you will help define this strategy at the hardware, operating system, device management levels.

As a Senior Security Engineer (SecEng) on the CS Security Endpoint Security team, you are expected to deliver projects and technologies that monitor the security posture of World Wide Customer Service’s (WWCS) endpoints that exist on its Operations network. As the first SecEng on the team, this individual is expected to be well rounded in security engineering best practices and to be able to seamlessly transition between common bodies of knowledge, such as network security, threat modeling and posture assessment, telemetry, data privacy, and application architecture security. The SecEng will deliver solutions that enable leadership to monitor, validate, and proactively configure the endpoints and network touchpoints, ensuring they maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the tools WWCS uses to solve customer defects.

Beyond leading these initiatives, the SecEng is expected to be a technical leader on the team and to act as an independent voice representing information security issues and use-cases in strategic planning and development. They must raise the security bar for our development efforts, and influence partner teams to also raise the security bar. The engineer must be able to convey security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership. You will make security simpler by identifying and eliminating organizational bottlenecks, especially with identify and access management.

As endpoint security continues to evolve, this SecEng is expected to contribute directly to security product development, not only as an advisor but also as an engineer. They must be able to speak at a high level about security outcomes, as well as delivering code that contributes directly to security outcomes. You will actively mentor software engineers on the team in security best practices. You will help them to develop mental models and paved paths to implement software securely. You ensure the team is stronger because of your presence and contribute to a culture that does not require you to be present for every decision.

You will establish metrics and mechanisms that measure WWCS’s security posture, and must stay yp to date in emerging security threats and technologies. You will negotiate to resource security initiatives, especially if the team considers new security capabilities (e.g., a bespoke Endpoint Detection and Response tool for our bespoke operating system). You will work independently and make make autonomous decisions, continually driving solutions forward and escalating for support on an as needed basis.
