Key job responsibilities
The Senior Research Scientist of the High Fidelity Modeling group will partner with a group of engineers and scientists that provide computational fluid dynamics modeling, as well as aerodynamic and other surrogate models used in flight simulation of the Prime Air drones.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years experience in CFD or flight simulation database generation and validation
- BSc/MSc in aerospace eng., mechanical eng., computer science, or equivalent
- Demonstrated success in communicating with technical teams to collect requirements, describe product features and technical designs and driving implementation across multiple teams
- Firm understanding of software design principles

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years experience in CFD or flight simulation database generation and validation
- PhD in aerospace eng., mechanical eng., computer science, or equivalent
- Experience with machine learning and gaussian process regression techniques

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
