Amazon's People eXperience and Technology (PXT) Finance team is seeking an experienced leader to lead our data platform and analytics initiatives. This role sits within the corporate FP&A team and is responsible for all metrics related to Amazon's people and workforce with two STeam organizations as primary customers.

In this role, you will establish and lead a team focused on making standardized people-related performance data available to finance, business, product, and research stakeholders across the company. Your mission is to create a centralized platform that serves as the single source of truth for evaluating workforce trends, driving strategic insights, and supporting senior leadership decisions.

Key job responsibilities
Build and maintain a widely accessible data lake and dataset platform that standardizes how the PXT organization evaluates workforce performance and experience.
Leverage AI and machine learning technologies, such as Amazon Q for Quicksight, to enhance data automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent insights.
Use best practices, data storage principles, and operational excellence to ensure high availability, performance, and accuracy of the data.
Lead a team of data engineers, business intelligence analysts, and business analysts to develop and deploy datasets that support data-driven decision making.
Guide and influence cross-functional teams on best practices for data presentation and access across various pipelines, including the integration of AI-powered tools.
Provide thought leadership to Amazon leadership and business partners, delivering solutions to strategic people-related challenges using advanced analytics.
Communicate performance against goals and objectives through comprehensive reporting and business reviews, leveraging visualizations and insights.
Manage a team, including direct reports and indirect collaborations, with a focus on developing their skills in AI-driven data platforms and analytics.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Proficiency with SQL, Excel, and at least one programming language such as Python, Scala, or R
- Knowledge of data engineering pipelines, cloud solutions, ETL management, databases, visualizations and analytical platforms
- Experience leading and hiring a team of data engineers, business intelligence engineers, and business analysts
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative area such as math, statistics, computer science, engineering or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in analytics/data engineering
- 8+ years experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in designing and delivering cross-functional custom reporting solutions.
- Advanced skills in data visualization applications like Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, or similar BI tools
- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, along with IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores such as object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, or column-family databases

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $182,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $314,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
