Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) to partner with the Alexa Communications and Alexa Video Domains. Both domains are the key drivers of Alexa active users and engagement growth. The SFA will be a member of the Alexa Domains finance team and providing finance support to business partners. This is an exciting opportunity to join at an early stage for one of the most innovative businesses at Amazon.

The right candidate will be self-motivated, have strong business judgment and considerable financial acumen. This role requires the ability to interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams including business development, monetization, product management, business intelligence and engineering.

The candidate must be able to balance challenging priorities, meet tight deadlines and provide insights and recommendations backed by data driven analysis. This role will also work with various functional stakeholders (engagement and accounting) to directly impact the Alexa Organization.


Key job responsibilities
• Build financial models/business cases on new monetization programs, new partnerships, growth initiatives, and new product features.
• Work with domains business teams to help develop short- and long-term plans and interim forecast updates
• Collaborate with domain business teams on business development initiatives in line with strategic goals by providing profitability and ROI analyses, and risk assessment.
• Drive continuous reporting improvement on the weekly/monthly financial and operational metrics
• Help finance team drive standardization, simplify processes and build scalable solutions
• Provide a strong controllership environment and improve controls over operational and financial metrics
• Be go-to-person for financial questions, inputs and queries for both domains teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Demonstrated effective communication and writing skills in working with senior finance and business leaders
- Exceptional analytical skills and advanced knowledge of Excel with demonstrated ability to build financial models and create business cases
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated financial and/or analytical experience including familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and/or data interpretation and analysis
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
