The Core Selling Partner Experience team defines, implements, and enforces quality standards for all Amazon-built experiences for all of our selling partners worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our Governance team, which is focused on measuring the quality of the Selling Partner Experience. Specifically, this role will partner with engineering, science, and product leaders to provide insights on the vendor experience, create key performance indicators, design and develop scaled, automated, user-friendly reporting, and partner on unlocking opportunities for our selling partners by breaking down complex problems. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, skilled at blending advanced reporting with strong critical thinking and project management skills, and be experienced in designing and delivering cross-functional custom reporting solutions.

The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter that can work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment; have great bias for action; be deeply customer-centric; and has a drive to own, build, and grow; along with the ability to have a little bit of fun.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- 4+ years of SQL experience
- 3+ Years of data visualization building experience
- 2+ Years of programmatic preparation of data for direct use in visualization tools like Tableau/AWS QuickSight
- 1+ Years of ETL Management/Data Pipeline experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related technical/engineering field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Expert-level knowledge of SQL
- Working knowledge of AWS tech stack. Glue, Redshift, S3, Quicksight, and Sagemaker will be used regularly in this role
- Experience as a leader/mentor of data analytics resources
- Experience working directly with business owners to field requirements and interpret results
- Experience testing causal arguments against historical datasets
- Experience documenting technical/data systems for technical and business leaders
- Experience working with data scientists on research and machine learning problems
- Experience interpreting forum/natural language data
- Master’s Degree in technical or engineering field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
