Key job responsibilities
We are seeking a product manager who is passionate about building technical products that will be used by all Amazon research teams. In this role, you will be the voice of the customer for the internal Amazon Science community and responsible for driving a product roadmap that enables Amazon scientists to effectively do their work. You will have the responsibility of inventing on behalf of the science community. We are looking for a customer obsessed product manager who enjoys discovering customer requirements, innovating on their behalf, and developing experiences the raise the bar in the industry. You will build and maintain technical products in partnership with our engineering team. You will write strategy documents to align technical teams and leadership. This position has a high level of visibility, so you will communicate clearly and compellingly at all levels of the company. Additionally, you will be responsible for measuring business impact by diving deep into metrics and customer inputs.


About the team
Our team’s mission is to the create best place in the world to do customer obsessed science. The Science Community team is embedded in Amazon’s Artificial General Intelligence Organization. We are responsible for managing the pan-Amazon Science Leadership team and delivering the most in-demand programs and products to support the research community across disciplines. This includes programs such as Amazon’s Scientific Publishing (SciPub) which enables Amazon scientists to publish their work externally to conferences, and the Amazon Paper Repository which provides Amazon scientists with a single destination to discover Amazon-authored research papers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience technical product management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
