Amazon Small Medium Business Financing (SMBF) is expanding with the ambition to provide the world’s best-in-class customer experience, product solutions and credit products to our customers. Amazon’s Fintech lender, Amazon SMBF, seeks a Finance leader to be the CFO of our global lending business. In this role, you will own the entire SMBF portfolio, as well as be the thought leader for new product launches, working with the global lending team to drive meaningful growth. The team supports the Global Business Payments organization which provides working capital solutions to Sellers and Business-to-Business (B2B) buyers so that they can invest to grow their businesses.

We are seeking an innovative, results-oriented, customer-centric Finance leader to join our team in Seattle to drive growth and expand our lending business to new areas. This role is cross functional, you will partner closely with finance, treasury, accounting, and product teams to help drive new projects to help growth and controllership for our lending organization.

- Strong written and oral communication skills combined with the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads
- An understanding of finance issues in an operational environment of rapid growth
- The ability to work cross-functionally with product, operations, marketing and BI teams
- Solid business judgment and controllership focus
- Strong financial modelling skills, including good knowledge of SQL and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience as a people leader



Key job responsibilities
The person in this role is responsible for long and short term financial planning, controllership, developing and reporting on weekly financial and operational performance metrics, and providing analytical support. This position will be a key risk/controllership gateway for the payments business and requires a candidate with strong communication and leadership skills. A portion of the time will be spent on ad hoc analysis to support the growing business’ needs. The B2B Payments Finance team works closely with a number of other finance and business teams, so any candidate should be able to work well with cross functional teams. The ideal candidate must have superior attention to detail and the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously. Strong analytical skills are required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 10+ years of finance experience OR Master’s degree and 8+ years of finance experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA, or CPA
- Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes
- Experience working cross-functionally with a wide breadth of stakeholders, users, engineers, and leaders to generate buy-in

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
