Amazon's Devices and Services Design Group (DDG) is seeking a Principal Design Program Manager to drive strategic planning across the organization. This role will be responsible for working with partners and stakeholders to define and manage priorities for the org and the operating model to support them. In order to be successful, this person will need to bring along cross organization stakeholders to gain their buy-in and support. The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership, high judgment, the ability to influence, and exceptional organization and communication skills.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with designers, researchers, engineers, product managers, and other cross functional partners. You will combine expert program management skills with a passion for user experience to help teams across Devices and Services improve the designs of Amazon’s products and services. You will need to manage communications across levels and organizations within Amazon to ensure awareness, understanding and alignment with organizational and business priorities.

Key job responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Mitigate ambiguity in studio-wide planning by creating strategic short- and long-term plans.
- Goal Creation and Guidance: Manage studio-wide key performance indicators to track and enhance DDG success.
- Operational Modeling & Measurement: Direct the analysis and improvement of organizational workflows to enhance planning and ensure scalability.
- Change Management & Leadership: Craft comprehensive change management strategies for new initiatives, leading operational transformations with an emphasis on minimizing disruptions and maximizing adoption.
- Executive Reporting: Regularly provide data-driven updates to senior executive leadership regarding team performance and the impact of operational strategies.
- Communication Strategy: Consistently communicate the status and activities of the organization in a clear, concise, and business-oriented manner, while maintaining strong relationships with DDG and D&S partners.
- Professional Development and Mentorship: Promote the growth and development of the design team through targeted training programs and mentorship opportunities, cultivating a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and self-sufficiency.

About the team
The Amazon Devices and Services Design Group (DDG) is a multidisciplinary design team that is responsible for the UX of Echo Family Devices, Alexa Mobile, Fire TV, Fire Tablets and more. DDG’s mission is to bring to life delightful, easy-to-use, and high value experiences for our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years of UX Design Project/Program Management and/or Design Ops experience in design organizations
- 8+ years of working cross functionally with design, product and tech teams experience
- Experience operationalizing and maturing UX Design organizations within a complex and ambiguous corporate environment.
- Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery, including defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience working with, presenting to, and influencing senior executives up to VP level

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
