As a PR Specialist for Amazon Ads, you will partner with business and communications stakeholders to provide counsel on, and manage media engagement around, emerging topics and trends that could impact our brand or reputation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and executing owned and earned communications strategies, tactics, and content; ongoing reactive media relations; collaborating with colleagues across a variety of Amazon communications, business, and policy teams; and working with our international teams to help extend and localize programs and content for their regions.
The successful candidate is customer-obsessed with high-judgment. They are exemplary written and verbal communicators with a passion for media relations -- including managing complex, fast-moving, high-profile media engagements. The candidate should have experience working with high standards under tight deadlines and a proven track record of earning trust from internal and external stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
• Spearhead owned and earned (proactive and reactive) communications strategies and messaging on behalf of Amazon Ads
• Provide reputational PR counsel and support to business partners
• Keep current on industry trends, issues, and news and proactively provide related strategic counsel
• Build and maintain relevant media relationships
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges

One day you could be focused on managing a fast-moving media cycle, another day you could be working with internal teams to deep dive and flag an issue, or you could be asked to examine a process and determine how to improve it for our team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years advertising industry or technology experience
- 2-3 years of reactive media relations experience
- Experience writing for a range of audiences and formats

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
