This role can be located in Seattle, WA or the Washington, D.C. area.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can clearly formulate and communicate PR recommendations and plans to both peers and executives, drive collaborative decisions, build relationships internally and externally, and deliver results. He/she will also be comfortable providing counsel and guidance to a wide variety of counterparts crossing a number of disciplines, and will be an expert in clearly communicating complex programs. Additionally, this role will consistently work with a range of media contacts across ecommerce trade and national business publications.
The ideal candidate will have strong PR experience, a track record of successfully managing proactive announcements with coverage results, and media relations expertise in both pitching proactive stories on a national scale and managing issues and reactive storylines.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead PR strategy and programs related to seller operations and logistics
• Provide counsel to executives and cross-functional teams on PR approaches and messaging
• Manage and guide proactive PR announcements, launches, and narratives
• Develop and manage relationships with a range of top-tier media contacts
• Write and evolve messaging and talking points in a thoughtful and strategic way
• Build, guide, and execute PR plans, including communicating plans internally and securing leadership approvals
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively
• Help manage a third-party agency to support PR activities
• Willingness to represent Amazon as a spokesperson
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- B2B or Operations-focused Public Relations experience
- Ability to successfully managing proactive announcements with coverage results
- Media relations expertise in both pitching proactive stories on a national scale and managing issues and reactive storylines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
