As part of the Amazon-wide Global Talent Management and Compensation team, the Organizational Planning and Effectiveness team’s mission is to enable Amazon to build healthy and effective organizations with the right leaders, in the right roles, at the right time. We develop philosophies, mechanisms and products that guide leaders to inspect and make data-driven decisions to improve their organizational operating models, structures, and executive talent.

As the Organizational Design Principal Product Manager, you’ll own the long-term strategy for a new, company-wide organizational design product that
enables senior leaders and their HR Business Partners to inspect and design their organizations.

You’ll build customer listening mechanisms and uncover the root causes of senior leaders' and HRBPs’ pain points in inspecting and improving the health of their organization’s design. You’ll measure the user experience and gather insights with our UX team, science team, and talent management partners.

You’ll define the vision to teach Amazon’s peculiar org design approaches at scale, and translate that approach into a multi-year roadmap with detailed product and UI requirements. You’ll make roadmap tradeoffs, managing ambiguity and influencing multiple stakeholders, and problem solving to deliver new features with the tech team.

You’ll partner with our research scientists to advance our understanding of organizational effectiveness at Amazon, and constantly scan academia and industry best practices for innovations we can learn from.

About the team
The Organizational Planning and Effectiveness team formed in November 2023 to create a single-threaded focus within Global Talent Management and Compensation. The team is building two enterprise-wide products: an executive talent management product that helps leaders connect business strategy to executive talent strategy, then identify, develop, and match successors to the right roles; and an organizational design product that helps leaders rapidly model alternate scenarios for structures, roles, and reporting relationships. This growing team partners with Research Science, UX Design, and additional talent management teams across the company to build innovative experiences for Amazon’s leaders and their HR partners.
