Military Pathways is a three-year Operations Leadership Development Program designed to rapidly develop talented Veterans with the skills needed to become Amazon’s future Senior Management. Talented individuals are crystalized into great leaders through cornerstone experiences - leadership opportunities that result in life changing lessons and drive people to accomplish great things. The Amazon Military Pathways program is looking for high-potential veterans with strong leadership and operations backgrounds who are ready for challenges worthy of building Amazon's next senior leaders. Through a series of intense, progressively challenging opportunities in the core of our elite operations network, we will stretch your leadership capacity to its full potential. The business lessons you learn and credibility you develop will benefit you over the rest of your career and quickly prepare you for effective senior leadership.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
The following is a brief overview of this fast track to senior leadership.
Step 1 - Start as an Area Manager, learn Amazon operations on the front-line leading people and systems. Kick off your career by managing and directing 50 to 100 associates in one of our world-class fulfillment/sortation/delivery centers.
Step 2 - Progress into the Operations Manager role and gain experience leading other managers and teams of 300-500 members. Drive improvements in Operational processes and the end-to-end supply chain by working cross-functionally with technology and engineering teams across Amazon.
Step 3 – Graduate from the Pathways Operations Leadership Development Program and emerge as a leader known for operational excellence. In this senior manager position, you will lead through others to execute on regional or network initiatives. Apply your expert subject matter expertise to lead a new business, project, team or an entire site in a specific region.
The Amazon Military Pathways program is for innovative, talented, and experienced leaders seeking to become highly influential Senior Leaders in critical areas of Amazon's business, in locations all over the world. We’re looking for veterans who pushed themselves by volunteering for the most challenging and elite assignments and training during their time in uniform to similarly challenge themselves at Amazon. - Lifting and moving material up to 49 pounds each

LOCATIONS & PLACEMENT:
Must be willing to relocate at time of hire; position location is most heavily weighted on business need, but will also consider individual location preference.
EXPECTED HOURS & ENVIRONMENT:
This position is demanding; hours may fluctuate with seasons and changing environments.
Expect to work weekends, holidays, and/or overnight shifts with anticipated overtime.
The position will be located in a fulfillment center, sort center, delivery station, or other warehouse environments.
COMPENSATION:
Total compensation for Pathways Operations includes three elements: (1) Base pay, (2) 1, 2-year sign-on payment, (3) Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)
Key job responsibilities
Coach, manage, and develop large teams
Partner with senior leadership to think broadly about solutions to the most complex business and operational challenges
Engage and lead continuous improvement projects throughout the course of the program
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of active duty service as a commissioned/non-commissioned military leader.
- Transitioned/retired within 1 year (NO EXCEPTIONS)
- A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Excellent military record demonstrating significant levels of responsibility and leadership experiences in challenging, high-operational-tempo assignments.
- Candidates must be flexible to work weekends and/or overnight shifts regularly.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10-15 years of military experience with a focus on leadership and operations.
- MBA Degree or equivalent Masters-level Degree is preferred but not required.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
- The ability to dive deep into data and provide thought-provoking, workable business solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to think big and influence across all levels of an organization.
- Bias for action and passion for rolling up sleeves and doing what it takes to “get it done.”

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $178,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
