GREF provides real estate transactions expertise, business partnering, space and occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, facility maintenance, and operations all contributing to the employee experience and leveraging places and programs to enable culture to thrive at Amazon. Within GREF, the Global Portfolio Strategy & Transactions (GPST) team drives global insights and initiatives as a center of expertise to our regional teams in strategizing and planning our corporate real estate portfolio at Amazon.

As the Lab & Specialty Space Planning Manager within the GREF GPST organization at Amazon, you will be responsible for strategically planning, analyzing, and optimizing our global portfolio of specialty spaces. Amazon’s specialty programs cover a wide range of spaces including, but not limited to, robotics, sustainability/reliability testing, usability testing, health and safety, product development, prototype distribution, vehicle development, quantum computing, aerospace technology, video production, broadcast operations, and Remote Facility Management. Your role will be crucial in ensuring these spaces support our company's operational and innovation goals while maximizing efficiency and customer experience.

Key job responsibilities
• Inventory, maintain, and analyze a comprehensive database of all specialty spaces across the global real estate portfolio.
• Develop and implement a global strategy for specialty space utilization and optimization, aligning with company-wide innovation initiatives and corporate real estate objectives.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of specialty space utilization, costs, and performance metrics across the global portfolio.
• Identify opportunities to improve space efficiency and recommend industry leading flexible design solutions that adapt to changing project needs and technological advancements.
• Collaborate with business groups and technical teams to understand evolving space requirements for current and future state projects.
• Develop and maintain advanced forecasting models to predict future specialty space needs based on project pipelines and technological trends.
• Integrate sustainability principles and energy efficiency measures into specialty space designs and operations, aligning with company-wide sustainability goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Facilities Management, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in corporate real estate, facilities management, or space planning, with a focus on technical or specialized environments.
- Solid understanding of the unique space requirements for tech industry specialties (e.g., AI labs, hardware prototyping spaces, high-performance computing environments).
- Proven track record in implementing large-scale space optimization projects.
- Project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for specialized tech workspaces (e.g., ISO standards, ASHRAE guidelines).
- Intermediate skills in data analysis, statistical modeling, and visualization tools.
- Global mindset with experience working across different cultures and regions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
