The primary purpose of this position is to shape the vision and advance patient safety at One Medical, promoting a culture of safety and the elimination of avoidable harm.


Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
-Shape and implement the organizational vision for patient safety
-Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement
-Develop and manage cross-organizational safety initiatives

Operations Management
-Build and maintain safety infrastructure, including: Safety reporting and analysis systems, Root cause analysis processes, Risk prioritization frameworks
-Monitor and assess compliance with national and local safety standards
-Implement proactive harm prevention programs
-Review safety reports and lead incident investigations
-Prepare monthly and quarterly documents on the state of patient safety

Stakeholder Collaboration
-Partner with provider leaders and functional leaders
-Serve as safety resource for front-line colleagues
-Maintain strong relationship with Patient Safety Organization
-Coordinate with quality, care model, and training teams
-Work with legal and compliance teams on risk management

Program Development
-Design and implement solutions for identified safety gaps
-Develop effective policies and procedures
-Create and maintain safety training programs
-Lead safety-related quality improvement initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

RN or clinical degree required

5 years experience leading patient safety initiatives in an ambulatory care environment, primary care environment

5 years experience that demonstrates expertise in patient safety concepts and practice including conducting Root Cause Analyses, FMEA, and TJC National Patient Goals

3 years experience with investigating incident reports and conducting root cause analyses; familiarity with risk management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Masters Degree in Healthcare
Has completed trainings and/or certifications specific to patient safety such as CPPS, CPHQ certification, Just Culture certification, Human Factors / Industrial Engineering
Hands on experience implementing risk reduction initiatives applying patient safety science concepts strongly preferred
Exceptional written communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $95,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $157,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
