Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a high judgment, audience-obsessed, creative, and results-driven communications professional to lead internal communications for AWS Infrastructure Services and Utility Computing, two organizations within AWS that represent our core services and infrastructure.

This role will join the AWS Global Communications team, working closely with multiple teams to increase internal visibility for leaders, organize town halls and other internal events, and develop employee communications programs. The role works closely across teams, including AWS Employer Brand, AWS HR Communications, Amazon Internal Communications, and AWS PR teams, and is part of Amazon’s Communications and Corporate Responsibility organization. The internal communications function is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies that effectively promote and enhance the reputation and visibility of AWS as the leading cloud provider. This person works closely with senior leaders to develop key messages, prepare speeches and presentations, build leader profiles through internal events, and communicate priorities.

They will be able to dive deep into the needs of technical builders across a variety of roles and locations, and effectively develop communications programs that inform and inspire employees.


Key job responsibilities
• Strategic Communications Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to support AWS’s objectives and priorities. Collaborate with select senior stakeholders to define key messages and ensure consistent communication across various channels.
• Thought Leadership and Messaging: Craft clear and impactful messaging that resonates with internal audiences. Develop talking points, presentations, and other communication materials for executives that align with the organization’s vision and goals. Collaborate with executives to ensure their AWS’s voice and message is effectively conveyed, and develop clear and concise briefing materials.
• Employee Communications Programming: Develop strategy for and execute ongoing program for employee communications, working across stakeholder groups, digging into data and analytics to understand what resonates, mining for best stories, developing and executing publishing calendar. Develop crisis plans and work with teams to execute in a fast-moving environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Portfolio of work demonstrating the ability to tell complex stories in relatable terms
- Experience creating content for leaders of complex tech organizations: digital, written, video, and/or audio communications materials
- Track record in communications or PR for senior business leaders
- Experience managing others

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
