The AWS Finance team is looking for a Finance Manager to join the AWS FP&A team. The person in the role will own the oversight, analytics, and understanding of trends in AWS Infrastructure opex for key internal customers across Amazon. This is a high-visibility role that deals with one of the most strategic cost factors at Amazon. To achieve its goals, the role involves communicating regularly with senior executives and developing partnerships with various FP&A organizations within AWS and Amazon. In addition to traditional functional Finance skills, this role requires the ability to lead cross-functional teams and exercise influence based on domain expertise. 'Learn and be Curious' is also key, and this role gives the opportunity to develop a good business understanding of the main AWS services.

Key job responsibilities
- Leading the infrastructure opex planning for a multi-billion dollar business
- Deep-diving variances vs. plan to understand changes and uncover opportunities for efficiency improvement
- Partnering with other teams to drive free-cash flow
- Leading cross-functional projects involving finance and tech teams
- Improving processes, including automation
Interacting with senior leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- 5+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- MBA, or CPA
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
