Amazon is looking for an experienced Environment Health and Safety (EHS) professional to join the Corporate EHS team. This person will play a critical role in leading the coordination of the execution of EHS programs and projects across the region. The successful candidate will define/refine the AMER EHS programs, projects, initiatives and reporting tools. This role will help ensure to correct application of all Global EHS Standards and best practices, while ensuring legal regulatory compliance.

This role will manage a wide range of EHS responsibilities, including liaising with regional GREF stakeholders and other critical support functions such as Facilities Management, Property Management, Procurement, People Experience and Technology (PxT) and Security. Engages key program stakeholders and vendor partners to drive development, and continuous program(s) improvements on behalf of EHS customers, while reducing business EHS risk. Supports development of EHS programs, projects, initiatives and/or reporting tools in support of EHS/GREF organizational goals and business needs.


Key job responsibilities
• Manage communication and working links with teams including Sustainability, Engineering, Facilities, Design and Construction and Amazon Corporate Security.
• Update existing policy and procedure documents to ensure the delivery of global and regional EHS requirements.
• Oversee and contribute to the development of EHS program/project objectives and targets.
• Capture Global EHS ‘Good Practice’ solutions.
• Maintain existing and capture new EHS requirements to ensure EHS legal compliance delivery in line with Corp EHS strategy and goals.
• Continuously improve EHS program/project analysis and enabling efficient processes and tools across all GREF portfolio.
• Analyze EHS metrics to discover trends and rationalize resource allocation where EHS risk is highest.
• Support OP1 and OP2 processes in terms of budgeting and business cases.
• Support the Corporate EHS AMER Lead in delivery of central and AMER specific EHS pro-active objectives.
• Manage regional safety committees and incident management program delivery.
• Generate regular regional project and goal updates for the EHS AMER Lead, EHS AMER Regional team, and GREF leadership team.
• Contribute to the CORP EHS strategy and aligned Global / AMER functional development programs for EHS and other key central functions.
• Support business change through effective influencing of change management processes within GREF operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of program or project management experience.
3+ years of experience working in EHS.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Identifies and optimizes process improvements and operational excellence procedures and process.
- Proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership and delivering results.
- Customer-experience focused; consistently exceeding expectations and prioritizing customer needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills including clear and concise written and oral communication skills necessary to build relationships and positively influence decision making.
- Experience with OSHA regulations
- Lean, 5S, Behavioral Change and Kaizen experience
- Flexible approach to work, able to manage own priorities, workload and occasional domestic travel.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $152,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
