Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities
Prime Air is seeking a Drone Support Technician. This person will be responsible for preparing the drone for flight by installing tracking equipment, GPS modules, flight bracketing, and then delivering the vehicle to the flight team. Upon flight completion, the drone is then prepared for final shipment to our customers. This candidate is expected to work closely with the Assembly & Test team to ensure the production forecast meets / exceeds expectations. The individual should possess strong analytical skills, be a self-starter, and work well independently.

Key job responsibilities
• Responsible to ensure the drone is safely prepared for flight and customer delivery post-flight.
• Load vehicle SW, perform testing/functional diagnostics, and vehicle repair as needed
• Accomplishes time-based and condition-based activities
• Adherence to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes
• This candidate is expected to work closely with engineering, flight operations, and other Prime Air teams to deliver on their assigned responsibilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience
• Experience in installation of sub-assemblies and assemblies while working to drawings or CAD files
• Ability to carry / lift up to 50lbs, stand / walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
• Demonstrate proactive safety mindset in ambiguous situations
• Familiar with common business applications and tools (e.g. MS Office, SQL)
• Excellent business communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Linux
• Familiar with Python or other scripting languages
• Experience creating CAD files based on loose specifications
• Experience in the aviation industry

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
