Amazon Business Flywheel Inputs Analytics team is looking for a Data Engineer to build our data platform and set us up for future growth. As a Data Engineer, you will partner with Software Developers, Business Intelligence Engineers, Scientists, and Product Managers to develop scalable and maintainable data pipelines on both structured and unstructured data. The ideal candidate has solid business judgement, depth of knowledge in data modeling and database architecture, written/documentation skills, and experience with big data technologies (Spark/Hive, Redshift, EMR, +Other AWS technologies).

In this role, you will function as a data engineering thought leader and establish operating procedures in partnership with software engineering teams to capture the optimal telemetry from existing, and future product/feature launches. You will design the ingestion in a way that efficiently integrates with the over-arching Amazon Business Pricing, Selection, and Services data model. You will force multiply your expertise across the Scientists and BIEs in the Org, and influence state of the art data pipelining and orchestration mechanisms.


Key job responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining a cutting-edge data infrastructure to support our large and complex datasets using AWS Services and internal BDT Tools
- Working with Scientists, Product Managers, BI Engineers, and Software Engineers to design, implement and support source of truth data sources- Developing and optimizing robust ETL pipelines with comprehensive monitoring, alarming, and data quality controls to seamlessly integrate diverse data sources
- Building and scaling an analytical data model that provides self-service access to data and flexibility to integrate data sets from multiple sources
- Manage AWS resources, including exploring and learning the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increased efficiency
- Force multiplying engineering best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with SQL
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience as a data engineer or related specialty (e.g., software engineer, business intelligence engineer, data scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
