The GTMC SIERRA (Science, Insights, Experience, Research, Reporting & Analytics) organization is seeking a talented and experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE). This role involves collaborating with various teams within GTMC and across other Amazon teams to enhance the Manager Hub platform and product experience. You will contribute to projects spanning Applied Science, Front End, and Backend engineering disciplines. As a member of the engineering team responsible for the development and maintenance of the Manager Hub platform, your responsibilities will include measuring the efficacy of features, adoption, engagement, and strategic program initiatives. In your role as a BIE, you will play a crucial part in automating and building dashboards, as well as standardizing and scaling complex data tasks.

A successful candidate will have a passion for business and data analytics and a deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions. The individual will have experience working with diverse groups of stakeholders, gaining expertise in their data and metrics, and translating their business needs to technical solutions. The individual will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a desire to innovate, fail fast, learn, iterate and improve.

Key job responsibilities
· Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and design reporting and automation solutions that will exceed expectations.
· Build detailed understanding of Manager Hub processes and how they map to data.
· Work with a variety of data sources and large data sets, extract data using efficient query. .development and provide a holistic and consistent view of the data.
· Actively drive automation and scaling of data processes and create self-service tools.
· Build knowledge of the latest tools and technologies to help deliver flexible and scalable solutions.
· Partner with data engineering teams to adapt data infrastructure to requirements.
· Actively manage the timeline and deliverables of projects, anticipate risks and resolve issues.

Global Talent Management & Compensation (GTMC) SIERRA (Science, Insights, Experience, Research, Reporting & Analytics) is a horizontal, multi-disciplinary organization whose mission is to be a force multiplier for the broader GTMC organization and our key customer cohorts. We accomplish this by using our expertise in data analytics and science, economics, machine learning (ML), UX, I/O psychology, and engineering to build insights and experiences that raise the bar in understanding and shaping decision making at scale by integrating within and across talent journeys as well as through self-service tools and closed loop mechanisms outside of those journeys. Our portfolio of products spans foundational data sources, metrics, and research through to finished features and products that our end-customers interact with on a daily basis.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
