We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of data pipelines and a centralized data store for people metrics data. Within the PI data services team, you will champion frameworks that empower our internal customers to seamlessly create data pipelines and ETL workflows. The ideal candidate possesses a robust understanding of data modeling concepts, complemented by a foundational grasp of Data Viz. Continual acquisition of expertise, iterative approaches, and adaptability are key facets of this role. Key job responsibilities
- Design and build business critical, highly available data pipelines in a stable, low cost model.
- Conduct deep dive analyses of business problem statements and formulate conclusions and recommendations to leadership.
- Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.
- Monitor metrics, analyze data and partner with internal teams to identify process, system improvement opportunities and come up with BI solutions.
- Internalize our customer challenges and derive creative solutions which apply new and innovative technology.
- Work directly with customers to integrate new data types, equipment, and incorporate feedback.
- Partner with Data Engineering to enhance data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights
- Apply best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, agile development, build processes, and testing.
- Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion.

Successful candidate would have extensive experience working with big data, building data warehouses and data processing services. They are effective at seeing data patterns and building generic data solutions to improve user experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
