This role will focus on improving kid experiences including content, browsing and recommendations.
You will analyze engagement data to provide key insights to inform leadership on business decisions. This will include querying Amazon's vast data sources to analyze content usage, A/B tests and engagement behaviors. You will develop new KPI's, performance modeling and automated reports. You will own the definition, wireframes and development of building dashboards to provide accessibility of key business metrics across teams. You will inform business goals and provide status on our progress. You will become an expert in kids digital media, industry and customer trends, content performance and more. This is a multi-faceted job in a start-up like environment that requires flexibility, agility, creativity and a sense of humor.
Key job responsibilities
- Leverage expertise in SQL and visualization tools to build scalable self-service data solutions to inform business decisions related to content performance, content marketing and child engagement.
- Analyze trends within customer segmentation and establish benchmarks and goals.
- Drive product and roadmap decisions using data and research to inform priorities.
- Dive deep into Amazon's vast data warehouse to investigate issues and use written communication skills to present areas of opportunity to influence content and product roadmaps
- Design and execute analytic projects in collaboration with Product, Software Engineering, Finance, and a central Business Intelligence team
- Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand and improve product capabilities.
- Write concise weekly status updates and other documents to communicate results and insights to stakeholders and senior leadership.
A day in the life
A typical day will start with a team meeting to prioritize a backlog of reporting and analytic needs. You will work with product management stakeholders to translate issues or questions into analytical requirements. You will estimate timing for the request then work independently to identify the correct data sources. You will write SQL queries to transform and aggregate raw data into KPI and summarize your interpretation of the results using your written communication skills. Finally, you will present findings to your stakeholders, leadership and peers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) experience
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with SQL
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Fundamental understanding of data structures and concepts
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in financial/business analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
