We are looking for a talented attorney to fill the role of Associate Corporate Counsel supporting Real Estate and Construction projects for our Operations (logistics), Physical Stores, and GREF (corporate workplaces) businesses. We need someone who has the ability to proactively manage multiple workflows and work cross-functionally across global teams.

As part of the Real Estate Legal team, you will be responsible for supporting the real estate portfolios of multiple business teams within Amazon. You will have transactional drafting and negotiating responsibilities on deals and will provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis. Transactions range from standard contracts to complex, bespoke, high value agreements. You will structure, draft, and negotiate agreements, provide asset management support of the existing real estate portfolios, manage outside counsel, and advise internal business clients. In addition, you will help develop, implement, and manage process improvements across the team, resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

The successful candidate will need excellent oral and written communication skills as this position involves direct contact with principal business owners. Flexibility, sharp organizational skills, a self-starting work ethic, and keen attention to detail are desired. You will also possess the ability to work both collaboratively and individually with peers, team members and executives and other stakeholders throughout the company, complete a high volume of transactions and projects quickly with little guidance; prioritize well and react with appropriate urgency to persons, situations and events; demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations; think creatively and be proactive in solving problems that affect people within our team, other related groups, and client populations; and an ability to look around corners, anticipating the team’s needs.
