UX Designers collaborate closely with Product and Engineering core team members to translate business needs into customer value. Designers often partner with UX Research and Business Analytics partners to gather data and validate design concepts. Design projects vary from defining solutions for entirely new needs to refining experiences to enhance usability to building solutions that integrate emergent technologies into workflows. We work in a dynamic landscape and are passionate about evolving experiences for the world's largest employee base in innovative ways.
We're looking for someone passionate about advocating for employee experiences, who relishes bold exploration and learning, and who seeks to bring cross-functional partners along as they experiment and ideate. This is a great opportunity to build skills and take on progressively more challenging projects in an environment that values building relationships and smart integration of research data and design concepts over pixel perfection.
Key job responsibilities
This designer will build an internal marketplace for Amazon employees. Yes, we are building an internal Amazon.com of sorts. You'll help Amazonians discover and request hardware, software and more to enhance productivity at one of the most innovative, tech-forward companies in the world. If this sounds huge, it is. But there is a ton of room to innovate in this space, and high encouragement for creative solutions. The right designer will rally cross-functional partners around leveraging research data, and exploring AI and technical solutions to empower our diverse, global population of over 1.5 million employees. This will not be an easy role, but you'll ever have a strong support network around you and I personally commit to always seeking your best in all we'll do together.
We are flexible with job level for this role and value skill and process over time or education. If you are holding back based on requirement for the role, apply! Lets talk.

A day in the life

* Start the day developing ideas for a new customer experience, including exploring competitive designs, looking through a data dashboard and discussing ideas with partners.
* Have lunch with the team-- a local Vietnamese street food restaurant is a team favorite
* An afternoon meeting with a mentor or 1:1 with a team mate
* Participate in an afternoon Design Critique to help a co-worker iterate early design concepts for a new tool
