You will be at the forefront of cloud technologies with interactions across the full breadth of AWS services. As a lead developer on the team, you’ll own code end-to-end from design, to development, to deployment, to monitoring and operations. You’ll have a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and practical experience developing complex applications. You’ll work closely with the rest of the development team to build distributed systems for our customers.

Our team, Collaborative Intelligence Technologies (CIT) is responsible for developing software and services to deliver knowledge management solutions to AWS customers and worldwide teams (such as Solutions Architects and Professional Services) so that our customers can find right information at right time. The engineers on the team touch everything from the front-end UI to the back-end services and databases. We’re using a variety of programming languages and frameworks, so experience with Java, Python, Ruby, HTML, JavaScript, AngularJS, and/or React will be helpful.

We are looking for a hands-on software development engineer who can:
- Participate in the full development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters, including test plan execution and software quality needs.
- Own the delivery of an entire piece of a system or application, on small to midsize complex projects.
- Build software solutions where the problem is not well defined. Design and define the interaction between the software components and other systems where applicable.
- Be a technical leader & driver for high standards and implementing best practices.
- Build highly scalable, cloud-native applications using services like AWS API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, AWS Neptune, and Elasticsearch.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
