About the Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer in the AWS Accounts team, you'll play a crucial role in developing and implementing consistent governance user experiences across AWS consoles. You'll work on cutting-edge widget development, frontend experiences, and help empower service teams to deliver consistent UX features efficiently.
Key job responsibilities
Widget Development: Lead the design and implementation of reusable widgets for governance-related services, including Accounts, Organizations, and Controls catalog.
Frontend Architecture: Drive the development of a controls platform user experience to provide AWS customers with a consistent governance experience across AWS consoles.
Performance and Quality: Ensure optimal performance and maintain high-quality standards for the frontend codebase through testing, code reviews, and implementation of best practices.
Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to translate requirements into seamless user experiences.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, and contribute to knowledge sharing across the organization.
Innovation: Explore and implement cutting-edge web technologies to stay ahead in the evolving cloud governance landscape.
A day in the life
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new governance widgets
* Contribute to the development of a policy platform widget that streamlines policy management across multiple AWS consoles
* Work on improving the scalability and performance of the Accounts Tree widget to handle up to 50,000 accounts
* Participate in the development of a controls registry for external customers to manage controls
* Contribute to the framework for an internal console with permission boundaries

We accelerate UX feature delivery, simplify cloud governance, and free Frontend Engineers to focus on complex front-end work. Our vision is to enable service teams to independently deliver consistent governance user experiences across AWS consoles.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
