The Process Improvement Specialist within the SP2 team will focus on long term initiatives with the goal of improving key sales planning processes. Additionally, this role will look around corners to solve complex problems by identifying root causes and defining long term solutions. This role will require end-to-end project management and collaboration across a broad, cross-functional group of stakeholders.
This role will partner with both program and product management teams. To succeed in this role, the candidate will possess analytical and communication skills, the ability to deal with ambiguity in the constantly changing and fast paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Works across teams and organizations on a global scale to drive process improvements, implement solutions, and reduce process waste.
- Leads complex, cross-functional, strategic projects.
- Applies rigorous approach to problem solving.
- Drive a process excellence strategy that will build capability and drive a culture of continuous improvement (Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean, Root cause analysis) across the SMGS Ops organization.
- Highly analytical skills needed to interpret large data sets.
- Structures and develops implementation plans.
- Collaborates with business unit leaders to pilot and test new solutions to deploy across the broader SMGS Ops organization at a global level.
- Manages critical relations with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrates strong hands-on project and operations management.
- Demonstrates strong ownership of any part of their project.
- Possesses relevant understanding and experience on operational processes and workflows.
- Is consulted regarding operation model, and, for higher levels is considered as a formal owner of the Operation model.

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent
- Experience in business-process design or equivalent
- 5+ years of process improvement experience via Kaizens and use of LEAN tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of sales operations or equivalent experience
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
