We are seeking a dynamic, enterprise deal and business desk consultant to join the team focused on growth strategic initiatives. This is an individual contributor role who will work closely with Amazon senior management, cross-organization growth initiative teams, and sales team to develop differentiated customer and business desk offerings, finding the right intersection between customer needs, AWS capabilities, and funding incentives to accelerate customer transformation.
The deal and business desk consultant will also work on building scalable mechanisms in the areas of Deal Pursuits and Reviews, Deal Funding, Finance Operations, Risk Management and Compliance, Field Enablement, and Business Desk operations. The deal and business desk consultant will use data to derive key insights to help teams evolve the growth initiatives and improve investments outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and long-term about the needs of complex global businesses. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities to influence AWS decision makers in an advisory approach (preferably through previous consulting, sales or similar experience) to progress decision making through deal shaping and approval. They are a self-starter who enjoys solving complex problems, works effectively with cross-functional counterparts, and thrives in fast-paced setting that is constantly evolving. Proving you have high judgement and strong capabilities to earn trust and think big is critical for this position. A strong bias for action, strategic planning skills, comfort with ambiguous and highly-visible situations, and the ability to coordinate and deliver across a highly-matrixed organization are essential.
Key job responsibilities
• Engage initiative and sales teams to evaluate and review complex deals and compelling proposals to best address outcomes of our most strategic growth initiatives.
• Advise on commercial deal terms: understand the competitive landscape and provide deal guidance to sales teams to drive significant business impact.
• Act as trusted advisor and thought leader to the cross-functional area leadership in the development of commercial strategy and deals structuring.
• Coordinate across many AWS teams with impact and visibility at the highest levels of AWS.
• Develop plans and processes, and routinely communicate and document the measurement and impact of strategic programs to the leadership team, and include program perspectives in other planning processes as needed.
• Build repeatable processes, tools, and reporting for globally dispersed teams, to simplify execution on strategic deals.
• Define business requirements and processes to ensure appropriate mechanisms are in place to support sales operations, reporting, and funding operations management.
• Support escalations from sales leaders and cross functional area leads to drive effective conflict resolution and decision making with high level of accountability and judgement in fast-pace cycles, monitor progress, and facilitate rapid responses to customer and AWS Partners needs upon agreed SLAs.
• Ensure investments meet compliance regulations and profitability guidelines.
• Use data to assess deals patterns to understand the competitive landscape and identify insights for initiative and executive planning.
• Establish credibility and maintain working relationships with partner groups involved with growth initiatives (Legal, Finance, Business Development, etc.).
• Take on special projects on an as needed basis to include delivering on narrowly focused tasks to broader ranging initiatives that need definition and the curation of insights.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
