This attorney will primarily support AWS' international expansion efforts, working cross-functionally with a number of internal teams to plan and execute international expansion strategies. This attorney will provide ongoing legal counsel for senior executives and other business team members. The successful candidate will be a fast learner who is detail-oriented and customer-obsessed, and will be able to work independently and comfortably while making decisions in ambiguous situations.

Key job responsibilities
- Providing advice on regulations concerning the expansion of AWS globally
- Providing compliance-related legal support
- Monitoring and advising the business of upcoming regulatory changes related to those topics
- Formulating, implementing, and maintaining applicable regulatory compliance policies and processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalent
- Knowledge of internet, software, and media industries and the legal and regulatory environment in which they operate or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
