The Centralized Data and Insights Team (CDI) has an immediate need for a creative and driven Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE). In supporting the AWS Specialist Partner Organization (ASP), CDI BIEs have a passion for building solutions that have a measurable impact. You must be innovative and technically versatile. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced cloud sales organization within Amazon, using a vast warehouse of data to find actionable insight and key drivers behind the APOs most visible metrics. You should be an expert in the architecture implementation of data processing solutions using multiple platforms. You should excel in the design, creation, management, and business use of extremely large datasets. The role requires excellent business and communication skills to work effectively with fellow BIEs, Operations leads and Sales stakeholders to consult as a reporting subject matter expert and provide innovative reporting solutions.
You must have the ability to learn new technology, develop deep understanding of how the ASP Operates and its latest strategic priorities is critical to the role.
Key job responsibilities
- Implement data pipelines from disparate sources to ingest, transform, and store the data in a scalable format that other BI builders can leverage for similar metrics.
- Gathering and understanding data requirements, working with cross-functional teams to achieve high quality and scalable data solutions for our products and mechanisms. - Dive deep into requirements to unearth optimal reporting design (e.g., key dimensions, broadest reporting audience, scalability, etc.) with Operations leads and drive constructive technical discussions. - Build end-to-end BI solution
- Determine lineage to understand the chain of custody and transformation of data to build enablement material that scales the impact of you solutions - Create interactive data visuals with QuickSight, Tableau, Matplotlib etc. - Exploring and learning the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency.
A day in the life
The role is part of a Centralized BI Team in the AWS Partner Organization. The primary focus is developing scalable reporting artifacts that can be leveraged by other Line of Business BI Teams, easily. You will be the conduit between reporting logic in the greater AWS Organizations, whilst closely partnering with other APO BI Teams to tell the story of the APO within AWS. You will create trusted and clear data artifacts as well as act as a SME on the drivers behind trends in top line reporting and any actionable Insights sales teams may take in response. BIEs in the CDI Team will work across multiple data functions and Sales personas interchangeably and exhibit an ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical Amazonian’s.
About the team
CDI is a BI Team within the Partner Intelligence Organization, which consists of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, Product Managers and Technical Program/Product Managers. CDI is chartered to establish a long-term reporting solutions, operational frameworks, and business insights for the AWS Partner Organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Scripting (e.g. Python) for data analysis.
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
