We are looking for a Sales Analytics and Insights Lead to partner with the AWS Global Sales, Strategy, & Tooling teams to surface insights to accelerate the productivity of our sales teams, understand customer trends and market opportunities, create metrics to measure success of our business, build automated & next-gen mechanisms for internal planning and invent new ways of diving deep to uncover insights to help us serve our customers in their journey to the cloud.
This role will require you to invent new ways of looking at the many dimensions of our business. This individual will collaborate effectively with internal end-users and cross-functional data teams to solve problems, build & own internal products, and deliver successfully against high standards. A successful individual is a person that has a proven work ethic that drives the desired results. This is a hands-on position - the ideal candidate must be willing to “roll up the sleeves”.

This position will work with several stakeholders supporting the extended AWS Global Sales organization including Front-line sales, Business Development, Marketing, Professional Services, Enterprise Support, Training and Certification and the Partner team. The individual must have the ability to communicate effectively across multiple technical and non-technical personas, as well as across other geographies. This role will focus on developing & delivering seller-facing insights using AWS Services, Tableau Cloud, & Salesforce.

Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate can:
- Identify key insights from data and deliver actionable recommendations to support strategic objectives.
- Utilize advanced analytical & AI problem-solving skills to address complex business challenges and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Lead product management initiatives, including defining product roadmaps, setting priorities, and managing the product lifecycle.
- Deep dive into data and visualization layer to lead optimization of heavily used Tableau workloads through effective data modeling techniques, Tableau optimization best practices, and innovative techniques suitable for business needs at scale.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition of analytics products to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- The ability to integrate data from multiple disparate backend data sources
- Gather and articulate customer stories to inform product development and demonstrate value to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards to provide impactful data visualizations and support business intelligence needs.
- Implement iterative deployment strategies and continuous improvement processes to enhance product performance and user satisfaction.

About the team
The Sales Insights, Analytics, Data Engineering & Science (SIADS) team is one of seven functions within the AWS Global Sales Operations organization, and is the single source of truth for all data, insights, dashboards, and KPIs critical to run the business.
SIADS is responsible for five key priorities:
- Modernize core data infrastructure and datasets to support planned business growth.
- Provide the right insights to the right people at the right time, in a secure, scalable manner.
- Simplify navigation to single source of truth insights products that deliver actionable guidance.
- Leverage AI/ML models to pinpoint timely insights and actionable recommendations.
- Build high performing teams by recruiting, hiring, onboarding and developing top-talent to achieve business objectives.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Strong Data Modeling and Tableau skills to deliver scalable and optimized reporting solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
