As the Director for Amazon Pay, you will fully own the design and execution of the customer acquisition and growth strategy in the US and EU, ultimately owning the P&L and overseeing business decision-making and strategies. The role oversees Strategic Account Sales, Strategic Account Management, Solution Architecture, Program Management, and Marketing. You will play a pivotal role in shaping strategies to deliver an unparalleled, personalized, and rewarding experience for our customers. As a member of the Amazon Pay leadership team, you will contribute innovative ideas and define our strategic direction. We can also consider applicants in London or Luxembourg.
Key job responsibilities
Strategy Development:
- Formulate, communicate, and execute a comprehensive business strategy for the EU and US aligned with the company's overall objectives.
- Define and drive Amazon Pay’s strategic direction in the EU and US.
- Identify market trends, analyze the competitive landscape, and explore growth opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with the product team to drive product development aligned with market needs in the EU and US.
- Shape global product and technology directions for Amazon Pay.
- Represent Amazon Pay externally to partners, merchants, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Financial Management:
- Take ownership of the P&L for the EU and US, ensuring financial goals and targets are met.
- Implement cost-effective measures and revenue-generating initiatives to maximize profitability in the EU and US
Market Expansion:
- Drive market expansion initiatives, exploring new customer segments, and product/service offerings.
- Develop and nurture strategic partnerships to support business growth.
Customer Focus:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Implement customer feedback loops to enhance the Amazon Pay experience and drive customer satisfaction.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and devise effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with industry standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) is required for this role, or related work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience defining and implementing global strategies to uniquely understand unmet buyer and seller needs, roll out services in various geographies and with diverse go-to-market partners, and operate commerce-related services profitably.
- A strong track record of building and scaling digital B2B2C businesses with a solid understanding of the P&L for service-oriented operations.
- Experience with payment strategies, programs, and processes.
- Deep understanding of the transformation in commerce driven by cloud-based, data-rich, and experience-centric retail players.
- Ability to interface effectively with both technology leaders and client executives, translating needs into solutions and specifications into benefits.
- Proven ability to engage at senior levels while remaining connected to details, demonstrating hands-on problem-solving capabilities.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $213,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $318,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
