Managed Infrastructure Modeling is responsible for enabling Amazon builders to model their service’s infrastructure as code, to allow them to use sources control to manage their infrastructure and ensure they can safely provision the infrastructure their services run on. This removes the risk of outages due to miss configuration.

Our mission is to create intuitive tools to help other developers deliver their services without having to worry about breaking their services when configuring the infrastructure their service run on, either when deploying a new service or when updating the infrastructure for an existing service.

About you:
You are a software engineer with an interest in reducing builder toil by removing undifferentiated work from infrastructure provisioning by improving customers infrastructure modeling experience. You have great problem-solving skills. You have strong leadership qualities, great judgment, clear communication skills, and a track record of delivering great products. As an SDE II in the Managed Infrastructure Modeling team you will work to solving complex problems for our customers. Helping our team find innovative solutions to the modeling problem of Internal Infrastructure as Code for builders of Amazon services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
