At Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), we are building core services that allow our customers to create and use Kubernetes at scale. In our pursuit to make AWS the best place to run containers securely and reliably, we’ve introduced EKS Add-ons.

The Amazon EKS Add-ons team owns services that allow the customer to reliably and conveniently deploy, manage, and upgrade operational software (add-ons) on EKS. The charter for the team is to simplify the overall customer experience related to bootstrapping and maintaining a functional EKS cluster. The team operates as a catalyst to help customers easily achieve meaningful use of EKS while remaining focused on their core business problems and solutions.

EKS Add-ons provide cutting edge, curated extensions for networking, observability, storage, and AWS integrations for EKS. As a Software Engineer for EKS Add-ons, you will play a critical role in how we deliver on our mission. Being part of the team, you will have a multiplying effect in enabling our customers to reliably adopt add-ons. With EKS Add-ons, our customers are able to focus on their core business while taking full advantage of the rich Kubernetes ecosystem in an efficient and productive way.

This is an opportunity to operate and engineer systems at scale. You will be solving challenging technical problems, often ones not solved before, alongside peers with remarkable expertise. A key part of your role will be collaborating with and influencing other AWS service teams to provide integrations for Kubernetes customers.

If you are excited to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment to deliver results, we would love to hear from you!

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. Mentorship & Career Growth
Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews.
