In this role, you will be responsible for synthesizing data, user research, and industry best practices to create scalable content strategies that align with customer needs, business goals, and emerging industry trends. To help our organization transition from unstructured to structured content, you will define technical content patterns designed to help all AWS customers understand and use AWS products and features. By collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, user researchers, designers, engineers, technical writers, marketing leaders, and subject matter experts, you will ensure the content strategy is tightly integrated with the overall user experience and supports our strategic objectives.

Key job responsibilities
-Develop inclusive and scalable technical content strategies: Develop and evolve content strategies that align content with customer needs and organizational goals.
-Manage resources to enable consistent content: In collaboration with other Content Strategists, create and manage a centralized Content Pattern Library and content model. These resources document standardized content structures, templates, and guidelines that ensure consistency across all AWS technical content.
-Create taxonomies and metadata schemas: Develop taxonomies and metadata schemas to enable intuitive content organization and efficient content discovery.
-Analyze and optimize content performance: Analyze data and user research to understand where content is and isn’t meeting customer needs, then use these insights to enhance content strategy guidelines and best practices and inform the team’s roadmap.
-Advocate for consistency: Partner cross-functionally to understand how our content fits into the broader ecosystem and, where needed, drive projects to align content offerings to promote a consistent experience for customers.
-Define the content strategy for new product experiences: Collaborate with product managers, designers, user researchers, engineers, and technical program managers on strategic product initiatives around content experience, content navigation, and content management.
A day in the life
As a Senior Content Strategist on the TCX Content Strategy team, your days are filled with a variety of strategic and hands-on responsibilities. You might start your morning reviewing customer feedback and content analytics to understand how content is performing across multiple channels. Drawing on your deep understanding of customers, you’ll identify emerging content needs and ways we can scale our content strategy to better support customers. Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Technical Writing teams, providing guidance on content architecture, taxonomy, and modeling to ensure a cohesive, customer-centric experience. The dynamic, cross-functional nature of this role is what makes it so rewarding as you work to shape the future of technical content at AWS.

The TCX Content Strategy team exists to ensure every piece of AWS technical content delivers a predictable, high-quality experience that is aligned to customer needs and business outcomes. We achieve this through rapidly prototyping new content ideas, setting quality standards and processes to maintain consistency, designing consistent content patterns, and evolving our AWS technical content strategy based on data and customer feedback.
By bringing together these different content capabilities, the TCX Content Strategy team works to provide exceptional technical content that helps customers successfully understand and use AWS products and services.

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-5+ years of proven experience in content strategy, preferably in an enterprise and/or technology company
-Ability to analyze data and user research to drive content strategy recommendations
-Solid project management skills with experience overseeing the content lifecycle; ability to manage multiple projects and make appropriate tradeoffs to meet deadlines.
-Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Background in designing technical content strategies for highly technical audiences such as developers, technical business leaders, and IT professionals
-Experience using content management systems (CMS) and participating in large-scale CMS migrations
-Strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience with coding/programming, including an understanding of API documentation best practices
-Experience with Generative AI tools and understanding of how Large Language Models (LLMs) consume technical content
-Demonstrated expertise in applying Design Thinking principles and methodologies to understand content needs and opportunities
-Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the technical content strategy and content design fields.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
