As a Startup (SUP) Strategy Lead, you will own strategic analysis and end-to-end project alignment, and act as a key connection point between and integrator of WW and Startup (SUP) strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong sales strategy experience, a deep analytical background, financial acumen, and experience implementing complex global sales strategy and associated initiatives. They will have experience working closely with sales leadership to drive growth and a customer-first mindset, and bring the foresight required to anticipate business needs, make short- and long-term trade-offs, and balance business dynamics despite constraints. Strong judgement and a demonstrated ability to influence without explicit authority are keys to success, as well as knowing where and when to advocate vigorously for a well-informed position.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive strategic recommendations for Startup (SUP) within AWS Global Sales organization, guiding investments to achieve organizational goals
- Manage highly complex and visible strategic initiatives. Influence cross-functional teams and leaders to drive business decisions with a focus on growth and efficient scaling of the business (e.g., data driven recommendations over sales investment and coverage models)
- Develop a deep understanding of AWS Global Sales business units to effective formulate relevant and strategies that can be implemented to drive sustainable growth
- Operate strategically by managing and maintaining standards of strategy excellence within programs, team and with colleagues across AWS by uncovering business and customer insights, and driving sound strategic recommendations
- Develop relationships with senior leaders across organizations to gain and share strategic insights, serving as a trusted advisor on complex business decisions
- Develop relationships and partner closely with senior leaders across the organization to gain and share strategic insights, serving as a trusted advisor on complex business decisions spanning multiple Areas
- Develop strategic and data analysis frameworks to produce insights and recommendations, working in close partnership with Data Science teams
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, develop insights and analysis, and synthesize learnings to author proposals of strategic importance that drive change in Startup (SUP) and across AWS Global Sales
- Develop and oversee in-year and multi-year strategy initiatives and propose adjustments based on data and observations
- Partner closely with Engagement, Sales Operations and Planning teams to design/establish/improve mechanisms to monitor and review success metrics with key stakeholders
- Support 3-year strategy and subsequent 1-year operating plans
- Up to 15% travel, including international

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years’ experience in strategy consulting, or in a strategic capacity at Fortune 500 companies
- Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and documents
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional audiences across all levels of the organization on complex strategies
- Prior financial acumen and first-principles problem solving experience (conceptual and analytical)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Computer Science
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM tool) or BI tools
- Experience presenting to senior leadership
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
