The Amazon Web Services Infrastructure Services (AIS) Supply Chain Networking silicon team is looking for a results-oriented Sr. Supply Chain Product Lifecycle Manager to own Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities for networking hardware. The Supply Chain PLM will drive hardware qualification activities, conduct NUDD reviews, own category SKU optimization, manage sustaining BOM configurations and lifecycle status changes, lead coordinate and execute last time buy and EOL plans, and partner with Sourcing, Supply Chain and engineering counterparts to ensure continuity of supply through optimal product lifecycle management.

General Work Activities:

- Create and execute end-to-end product lifecycle plan for a specific category of networking hardware in collaboration for Sourcing, Supply Chain and Engineering counterparts

- Drive qualification of second source or new revision hardware with rack integration partners as well as internal network engineering teams

- Create and report out on qualification status and any risks to meeting qualification timeline

- Conduct New Unique Difficult Different (NUDD) review of second source components

- Align new hardware feature requirements from internal network engineering teams and hardware development engineering teams

- Rationalize SKU portfolio to avoid redundant SKUs while ensuring optimal multi-source coverage

- Align SKU portfolio strategy with supply chain and engineering counterparts

- Manage BOM configurations and lifecycle status changes

- Align on ramp plan with engineering and supply chain for new products

- Create and align end of life and last time buy plans for SKUs that are phasing out

- Develop subject matter expertise in the category of networking hardware you manage to advise engineering, sourcing and supply chain counterparts on optimal lifecycle strategies

- Influence business partners, suppliers, and executive leaders to achieve product lifecycle management goals

Key job responsibilities
• Collect requirements for component qualification in existing racks
• Ensures component multi-sourcing (fungibility) at rack level
• Ensure BOM changes are done at the correct level, considering fungibility and functionality criteria
• Creating CRs, maintaining component lifecycle in Agile, and existing rack BOM changes
• SKU proliferation management, limiting unnecessary component redundancy in the supply chain
• Responsible to communicate with customers when a component is going EOL
• Promote the removal of EOL (End of Life) components from BOM and the migration to new technologies
• Own component E&O mitigation of material that has not reached the Data Center (E&O of DC inventory is owned by Network Supply Supportability – Transitions team). Total component E&O is jointly owned by both teams
• Orchestrate supply and demand component generation change


A day in the life
As a Supply Chain PLM, you will be part of a three-pillar category team (Sourcing, Supply Chain, PLM) that will own end-to-end management of a specific category of networking hardware. You will participate in technical engineering reviews, collaborate on sourcing strategies, advise on supply chain objectives, drive qualifications across multiple engineering teams, coordinate with component and rack integrations suppliers and own program reporting to executive leaders. Your role is fundamental to optimal product management of cloud networking hardware. You will develop deep and practical knowledge of the hardware you manage as well as its application in the AWS network. In this role you will be looking at "what's next" on the technology roadmap so you can build a lifecycle strategy to support it.

About the team
You will join a team of highly capable and driven sourcing and supply chain managers who have experience from inside and outside the tech/networking industry. We are continually diving deeper into the supply chain and product design with our engineering and ODM partners. Although we have a ways to go, we have a heavy focus on automation and tools creation. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
