Software Development Manager, Core Networking

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. The AWS core networking team is looking for a passionate, result-oriented and inventive software. Amazon Web Services (AWS) runs one of the largest networks in the world. We are looking for a leader to drive further the development of software that automates the deployment and configuration of optical and IP platforms used to interconnect our data centers. You will leverage your deep experience in software technology and development to work with networking teams and develop software to automate the end to end process of deploying capacity for our customers.

Responsibilities include direct management of engineers, design and delivery of software solutions, process and quality of service improvements, strategic planning, project management for software and systems within the team, partnering with peer teams to align roadmaps and management of resources across teams. They also include working backwards from customer needs, build and track business metrics by which the team works to improve customer impact.
Successful candidates will be leaders who can prioritize effectively, communicate clearly and have a consistent track record of delivery.
