Position Responsibilities:

Produce Lifecycle Assessments of AWS Data Center global designs to quantify environmental impacts of our data centers. Understand the design and functionality of AWS data center globally. Work with Design Engineers, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors to identify designs, technologies and materials to reduce the carbon intensity in our current and next-generation AWS data center designs. Provide guidance to the Design Engineering teams for reducing carbon intensity in new data centers and support Field Engineering teams in evaluating upgrades to existing data centers. Integrate lower carbon options in building materials and systems into the AWS Basis of Design for current and next-gen data center design. Produce clear and concise documentation, such as detailed design specifications, white papers, and reports. Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions and work with stakeholders across both technical and business functions. Interact with different teams responsible for all aspects of the data centers. Influence the development and implementation of sustainability practices in existing, new, and future data centers. Work on projects locally and globally.

40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $116,800/ year to $160,000/year.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture, Engineering, Building Sciences, Urban Design, or a related field and two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have two years of experience in the following skills: 1) experience developing whole building lifecycle analysis models for the built environment; 2) professional experience in data center, mission critical, or high-performance building design; 3) experience facilitating goal-setting sessions, coordinating with all design disciplines and internal/external stakeholders to formulate and develop design objectives/strategies; 4) experience with evaluation and maintenance of the carbon impact of changes to Basis of Design, building prototype designs, and template specifications – as well as development of low-carbon alternatives and designs in architectural systems and components; 5) experience performing necessary modifications of drawings and specifications as construction projects progress; and 6) experience conducting site visits and progress meetings to observe construction and site activities. Partial telecommuting permitted; employees will be required to report to office multiple days per week. Some positions may require domestic or international travel. #0000
