The Product Operations group is looking for an individual who wants to work on a business that is growing at a rapid pace. We are a critical part of the hardware development and product launch process. We ensure successful fulfillment for product launches and ongoing support, grow the capabilities of our current systems and supply chain to meet our needs, and drive continuous improvement for the company.

As a Senior Materials Program Manager (MPM) for project Kuiper, you will be responsible for the complete health of the Bill of Materials (BOM) financially as well as ensuring diversified continuity of supply for the product(s). The Sr. MPM must have a strong business orientation and will collaborate with local and remote cross functional teams, including operations, engineering, software, product management, finance, etc., to drive development, implementation and management of the product budget and Supplier Plan of Record (SPOR). The Sr. MPM is the business voice responsible for capturing, documenting and communicating financial exposures and supply risk and outlay as it relates to the product(s). The Sr. MPM is involved throughout all stages of the product family's lifecycle to achieve all financial targets and qualified material availability through end-of-life.

Key job responsibilities
- Work with product management, finance, engineering and supply chain teams to set program cost targets and guardrail, including product cost target and guardrail, tooling budget, as well as cost targets on the commodity or even component level
- Track the program actual costs versus target and identify risks and opportunities to keep the program on track.
- Timely communicate cost implications of feature, engineering and/or process changes as relate to the product's fully loaded cost targets
- Set product purchase order cost for the upcoming period or volume with the contract manufacturer (CM)
- Manage purchase price variance claims resulting from engineering changes, component obsolescence or forecast variance.
- Architect and establish a sound Supplier Plan of Record (SPOR) fitted for the product(s) along with engineering, software, Supply Chain, and other Ops functional teams to ensure time-to-market, supply continuity, manufacturability, scalability, and sustainability.
- Drive successful implementation of SPOR throughout the development cycle as well as mass production prior to transferring to sustaining team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
- 5+ years of managing complex technology projects working directly with engineering teams
- 5+ years in supply chain and/or manufacturing for complex systems/devices
- Excellent analytical and communication skills; meticulous attention to details
- Experience in relevant industries with a holistic view and keen business acumen
- Technical aptitude and familiarity with the design and working of complex systems
- Proven track record of complex and creative problem solving and the desire to create new processes or simplify and improve on current ones
- Proven ability to influence others, facilitate agreement among stakeholders with different interests

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
