As the Sr Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for forecasting, analyzing, and reporting all AWS and data storage, data transmission, and other infrastructure support needed by the Kuiper hardware, software engineering and operations teams. You will have strong infrastructure cloud computing knowledge, experience with Capex allocation and Opex cost assignment, and a high capacity to learn. You will partner with business leaders to develop operating plans including capital investment and funding needed to build a global infrastructure network.
Success in this role requires you to partner with and influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. You will collaborate with all types of stakeholders, from VPs and Directors to Program/Project Managers and other Finance Managers across multiple business units within Amazon. You are comfortable leading analysis projects with high ambiguity, creating a robust process to track and manage the spending needs, presenting to business owners, and can pivot between the defined financial rhythms and ad-hoc project analyses. You use judgment to prioritize high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, while helping to solve complex problems that affect company-wide decisions.
Key job responsibilities
- Finance subject matter expert of Kuiper cloud computing consumption
- Develop strong working relationships with AWS Infrastructure and Services teams, and Kuiper business partners
- Work across Kuiper to identify, quantify and forecast AWS usage (IMR) and Kuiper specific AWS infrastructure costs (Capex) that support Kuiper on a global scale
- Build complex financial models that estimate Kuiper cloud computing costs and requirements in support of negotiations with AWS and B2B prospective customers. Partner with key Kuiper business partners to assess and bring creative ideas to reduce cloud computing costs
- Develop and implement metrics to monitor, report and evaluate forecasts and actual usage (AWS, external) and capex investments including recommendations to business leadership to drive efficiencies and spending improvements
- Develop and deliver accurate Operating Plans and Guidance R&Os and bring creative ideas to drive out costs
- Demonstrate an ability to manage competing priorities, work in an ambiguous business unit, and provide operations and investment guidance to the business partners based on data analysis
- Uses active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjusts style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
